backstory

Mei Liu (刘梅) was born on the 28th of August 1980 to her loving parents, Saya & Ren Liu, who would go on to have three more kids named Maya, Kai & Fei Liu, in Shanghai, China but they very quickly moved to New York City when Mei was three years old, which turned out to possibly be the biggest mistake of their lives as shortly after moving to America, Mei was taken away from her parents by HYDRA and throughout her early years as a kid? She was raised by HYDRA to be as athletic and smart as possible while being incredibly loyal to them as she was far too young to remember her parents, but once she was fourteen? The experiments began... HYDRA were looking to create more super-soldiers after successfully turning Bucky Barnes into the Winter Soldier, they got greedy and wanted more like Barnes, Mei was the leading candidate, showing all the capabilities to be a masterful and skilled assassin for them so they tested her with a newer version of the super-soldier serum and it worked, much to everyone's shock.Following the successful experiment? They began to train her to become an assassin, one on equal ground with Bucky, and she even had the capability to surpass him in the future as well. The training was brutal and lasted several years but just before her eighteenth birthday? She was given her first task... operation Liu something very simple but sinister... she was tasked to kill her entire family to show true loyalty to HYDRA, and she did just that without hesitation.One summer night, the Liu family, who still had the belief that their daughter would be returned to them, were enjoying family dinner when they heard a knock on the door and when Ren answered? 𝗕𝗔𝗡𝗚! A bullet straight through his forehead followed. In a panic to protect her children, Saya charged towards Mei, but she was effortlessly sent to the floor with an expert judo throw, and when Mei got up to her feet? 𝗕𝗔𝗡𝗚! 𝗕𝗔𝗡𝗚! Two more shots were fired into the heads of Maya & Kai. Saya was left on the floor sobbing as her entire family was just murdered in front of her eyes, but when she looked into the eyes of the woman? She was frozen in shock, and all she could say was, "Mei...?" Before her knife was driven into her chest but when cops arrived at the scene? Only three bodies were accounted for.Following her mission, Mei returned to HYDRA and they immediately wiped any memories of the incident from her mind and she was simply sent out to be their robotic killing machine, who has since been sent on hundreds of missions and was successful in every single one of them but her latest mission was the toughest... operation infiltrate SHIELD as it meant she'd be gone from Hydra for longer periods... meaning the brainwashing could slowly fade over time.Since the year 2025, Mei has finally broken free from Hydra's control, taking up a life as a professional assassin/hitwoman for different mob bosses but her main contact is Felicia Hardy aka Black Cat. The two became associates following a failed assassination attempt on Felicia's life by Mei and it was quickly revealed that Felicia knew about the life that Mei had lived and she promptly offered the woman a position underneath her as her professional hitwoman, doubling her pay compared to the previous mob boss, who had ordered the hit on Felicia.Since beginning work for Felicia, Mei has enjoyed a significant rise in not only her payments but also her name was out in the world more which led to her getting offered an incredibly dangerous job. An anonymous contact had sent Mei to retrieve an important "piece of equipment" from Rykers Island Prison. Her mission went as smoothly as it possibly could thanks to her expert stealth but once she had grabbed the equipment? Alarms started buzzing loudly as the entire prison was put on lockdown, meaning Mei needed to fight her way out.While fighting against the waves of guards, Mei was fatally shot in the stomach by a sniper, causing her to drop the container, which smashed upon hitting the ground and as Mei laid there on the ground, bleeding out? A red alien-like substance slowly crawled out of the container, making its way towards the injured woman and after climbing onto her finger? It started to bond with her and before anyone could react? Mei stood up front as the new host of Carnage! She tore through the prison effortlessly, ruthlessly killing everyone in her path before escaping the prison with zero evidence or witnesses left behind.The duo made their way to the rendezvous point to meet up with the mob boss, who gave her the job and after securing the payment of hard cash in hand? Mei handed over the container... only for the mob boss to discover that it was empty and once he turned around? _{Her main weapon is her custom glock 17 pistol which has been modified to fire better bullets than any of the other agents that have the same weapon as Mei and fitted with a silencer for her assassinations. This weapon was the one that she used to murder her father, brother & sister among so many other innocent people while under HYDRA's mind-control.}

_{Used mainly as a backup in case someone manages to disarm her of the combat knife, this knife usually stays clipped onto her boot however but whenever she does use it? Her target is always taken by surprise and their death quickly follows.}

_{Used mainly as a desperation tactic to either escape a beatdown or gain what many would say is an "unfair advantage" over her targets. The effects of this spray are brutal and the victim would be blinded and in pain for the rest of their life or in what could be a better case, they'd be dead after it.}
